The 6 1/2 inch width are for standard railings with a circumference of
7 1/2 inches to 9 inches.
The 4 1/2 inch width is for narrower railings with a circumference of
5 1/2 inches to 7 inches.
Measure your banister and order the corresponding kit size (if you have more than one section of banister, measure and order for each section)

They seem to work fine although I could have used another foot of length - and this was after I measured twice. Gets rid of the family complaints of prickly greenery on the stair rails. Looking forward to using them as I decorate this year.
My handrail arrived quickly and well-packaged. Good quality fabric and strong elastic so I could fix it to fit my railing perfectly. Probably will buy again soon for others in my family!
